riding a cab

I used to ride a taxi cab wherever I go. Its convinient and comfortable. However, it contributes to pollutants in the air. My resolve is, walk or use public transport whenever possible ( if weather is ok). It was hard at first, its hot and humid. So I adjusted the time that I would need to leave and move around. (between 5-7 in the evening). It was cooler and still early, people are still on the streets. you get to see your environment as it really is. Walking around gives me more ideas for projects to make things here better.

Pet bottles

I realized that I was always buying beverages in pet bottles. So I decided to bring my own water. I fill a third of my drinking bottle and put it inside the freezer overnight. Before I leave in the morning, I fill it with water. I lessened my pet bottle waste and sugar/calorie intake. I lost 3 lbs. in almost 2 weeks! I also saved money. Everything is just great!

Finding Solutions to clean the bay

Welcome all to the effort to help get the Los Angeles Bay clean and free of pollution. We will connect with Heal the Bay, a group who has long worked to that end and who does the Beach Report Card. http://www.healthebay.org

I am interested in exploring how water machines will help us here in Los Angeles. For more on water machines, see: http://www.toddecological.com/ecomachines.html
John Todd is the pioneer of these and if we have these in our neighborhoods and even in our homes, we could greatly reduce pollution that goes into the sewers in the first place.

More soon, and please post any ideas.

Thanks!
