I invite you all to use this forum area to discuss what you think the causes of our global challenges are, define them; by knowing the causes we can start to design solutions.

I believe the root cause is the current socio-economic model of the Industrial Age, ushered in appropriately by the signature technology known as the printing press, making fiat money a new option.

The Industrial Age economic model creates money out of thin air and requires the living people and the Earth pay the bill in labor and natures resources. When peoples labor pays the bill a debt crisis is eventually created with poverty the inevitable result; when nature pays the bill the environment is damaged. Only a few hundred years old, this economic model based on competition and conflict has left our children a legacy of debt and a withering planetary environment.

The solution it would seem to me is to embrace a new model, and Information Age model. Information Age tools can relieve pressure on people and the environment. Achieving this goal will require a common global community where even the poor can create digital wealth using a free peer to peer Information Age economic system where value is created from human elements of creativity (music, words, art) rather than natural resources.

On this social action website, you will see thousands of examples of what people have chosen to do to make the world a better place. We believe that when people see what other people are doing, it helps them take action too. So we ask that you open a profile, and tell us what action you are doing, perhaps you are going to plant a vegetable garden, or you are going to help start a recycling program at school, whatever it is, let us know and tell us how it's going. You can post videos, pictures and statements. If you need inspiration, check and see what people have done by looking on the action map or joining a group that has already started. Together, step by step, action by action, we can create a healthy and just world.
