Description:

On 31st of January we are inviting the other classes at our school to join wiht us in educational activities that will increase student body awareness.

We will play games about seperating waste with the pre-schoolers, in Grade K and 1 we are going to teach them about what Climate Control menas through th euse of posters adn a quiz. In grade Two because they have a choir we are going to teach them songs about recycling, Grade Three will watch our play on what to do with the rubbish you get at school, Grade 4 and 5 are going to collect all the reusable paper fomr the school and create a recycled paper activity. The Junior Hig are going to help us in a clean-up at the school, on the soccer field and in the car park.

31st January Environment Education day

The Four Seasons Hotel made in contact with us. They want to see what we are doing so they can get ideas for their own Green Globe Group. They will send six representatives to observe our activities on Thursday and then ask questions of the students about how they did what they did, and why.

The class has been preparing activites and visual aids for the younger students.

It is interesting to see how the students process information and then redirect it to a younger audience. For exapmle: What is GLOBAL WARMING?"Global warming is the Earth getting hotter as pollution warms the air and melts the ice."

What is POLLUTION? "Pollution is things like rubbish in the rivers, smoke from fires, gases form cars. Sometimes you can;t even see it."

Al Gore has said that only when people really ACCEPT the need to change, will change occur. These students are learning the need for change and slowly accepting changes into their lives. We began this semester with a pledge to minimise our use of the airconditioner. It is now set at 21 degrees, we try to use it only after break time, we live in the tropics and have to work out the useage on a daily basis, we often have power cuts and low power days that also limit our use.

I am working in group with Justin and we are leading the activities with Grade Two Class, we are teaching them environment songs.

Atraction's action communities are created to help people plug-in and engage after seeing our films. Help us continue our work and support the message by buying our DVDs, T-shirts or other cool things related to our films. The films we make are created to raise awareness and help foster change around issues of the environment, social justice, consciousness, health and well-being. By purchasing a DVD, or other things, you help spread the message.
